my gripe with ‘what makes you beautiful’

Okay um this is a REALLY BIG PET PEEVE OF MINE but I IRRATIONALLY HATE ‘What makes you beautiful’ by One Direction.

Like every time it comes on the radio I will legit punch my ‘seek’ button until I get a different station.

I don’t like the implication that confidence is unattractive.  But what really gets me is saying that someone’s insecurity is what makes her beautiful- it’s kind of insulting.  Say it’s her hair or her eyes or the way she kicks your ass in Time Splitters, don’t say that her insecurity is what makes her pretty.  I mean, I’m reading way too much into this, but people who are drawn to insecure girls because they are insecure are generally… not fun people to be around.

also I hate the singer’s voice, but that’s beside the point.
